(She shifts a little, reaching out to tap the front of her phone so she can swivel the camera around, giving Lup a brief look into her living room. Currently, there's a stack of books piled unsteadily beside an empty bookcase, paper strewn across the couch.

Then, a brief lag, and Lucretia's face appears again, expression sheepish.)

I'm still pulling it all together. Uh, can I say no to the casserole and yes to the potted plant?

You're refusing Taaco brand casserole? I'm insulted.

[She doesn't sound it, though. Instead she smiles a little bit.]

It looks good so far, Luce. I'll get you a plant.

I feel like casserole is only the kind of thing brought after a bereavement. You haven't got a happier dish that you could bring?

(She's only teasing though, smiling back in response.)
